Dimensional Fluctuation is a real-time generative spatial simulation that constructs an invisible ten-dimensional world with persistent memory and makes it perceptible through time-varying measurement. The work treats higher dimensions as a practical premise for spatial design: what becomes visible, stable, and repeatable depends on how the system is observed. Its foundation is a constructed 10D Euclidean space whose state remains coherent as it evolves. A latent geometric scaffold is maintained as five internal 2-planes (orthonormal frames) updated via constraint-preserving manifold retraction, ensuring continuity of structure over long runs.

The dynamics cycle between alignment and dispersion, tracked by an effective dimensionality order parameter that measures whether the system concentrates onto a few dominant axes or distributes across many directions—an oscillation echoed by the maxim: “long divided, must unite; long united, must divide.” These shifts function as an architectural logic of organization under uncertainty: concentration produces strong spatial axes and recurring motifs; dispersion produces broader participation, texture, and spatial diversification.

Visualization is treated as measurement-as-design. Dimensional reduction is performed through coordinated readouts that change over time (phase modulation, structured channel mixing, and cyclic reassignment), so different observation choices preserve different aspects of the same 10D state and reorganize what becomes legible in 3D space. The work runs live in Unreal Engine, where compute shaders generate geometry through a custom Vertex Factory (C++ plugin). A spatially coherent rule ecology selects mathematically defined operators across regions, allowing local decisions to accumulate into emergent structure and long-duration temporal rhythms. The project asks: if higher-dimensional structure can only be encountered through selective measurement and view-dependent rendering, what kinds of spaces emerge—and how do observational choices actively shape the architecture we perceive?
